Business Development Manager – Life Sciences
This position can be based anywhere in the US. We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager – Life Sciences for our t+ Clinical Business Unit. t+ Clinical has revolutionized clinical trials by introducing the first mobile phone based ePro solution. We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who is successful in selling CRO software solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing revenue generating partnerships within the clinical trial market. Responsibilities:
Search, identify and secure new business opportunities within your assigned geography:
- Develop new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals and networking
- Develop a robust sales pipe-line to secure quarterly and annual quota objectives
- Develop business cases for new business opportunities
- Qualify and timely close new revenue opportunities for t+ Clinical
- Understand and interpret technical and business aspects of t+ Clinical and partner products into mutually beneficial revenue opportunities
- Prioritize and focus on partnerships that will generate strong revenue results, contributing to the success of t+ Clinical's ability to achieve short term and long term revenue goals
Responsible for managing t+ Clinical’s new and existing partners:
- Negotiate commercial aspects of contracts to achieve closure on new business opportunities
- Maintain, support and nurture relationships with potential business partners
- Manage monthly review and forecasting with established partners
- Secure long term customer value
Communicate effectively and appropriately in verbal and written form:
- Update t+ Medical senior management on a regular basis
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of forecasted new business
- Effectively and independently present to partners our company and products in the context of building a mutually beneficial business partnership
- Ability to develop and articulate a compelling value proposition that will secure interest by both t+ Medical management and partner management
- Develop and present compelling sales proposals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
- Minimum 5+ years CRO or Life Sciences Business Development/Sales experience
- Consistently meet or exceed quota targets
- Proven track record of independently identifying, developing and securing revenue generating business relationships
- Industry knowledge and well networked
- Technology savvy
- Ability to independently prepare and deliver client presentations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task
- Experience with sales force automation tools and database solutions (SalesForce.com)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to develop and sell ideas and have the confidence to negotiate contracts with senior level management
- Know when to cut bait and move on

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting, identifying and qualifying new opportunities for our mobile phone and web based disease management and telemedicine solutions. Qualified Leads will be created through focused telephone campaigns, web casts and other innovative demand generation activities. This involves understanding and working in all aspects of the sales cycle, including extensive cold calling, qualifying, presentations and demonstrations and working closely with all members the business development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Make direct "cold calls" to C-level Suite and Director levels to generate qualified leads
- Mine contact databases and online research to identify and qualify new opportunities
- Cultivates and nurtures leads from individuals, within our target market, who visit the company's website, trade show booths or respond to other marketing campaigns in order to qualify interest and purchasing ability
- Conduct market research on the Internet and by phone to determine developments within prospect accounts that might affect purchasing interest and ability such as IT acquisitions, budgets, new programs and individuals within these organizations who influence or make purchasing decisions
- Provide telephone support to marketing campaigns
- Fulfill special requests from the sales team such as qualifying specific accounts, setting appointments, etc
- Send follow-up literature to interested prospects
- Refer qualified prospects to the appropriate team member for further development
- Maintain complete records in customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Submit regular progress reports to sales management
- Identify RFP opportunities and assist the BD management team in assembling requirements and meeting deadlines
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an IT, Business or Sales related field.
Background:
- Minimum of 2 years of B2B telesales experience with proven results in a quota-oriented environment and/or previous related inside sales experience, coupled with an understanding of technology and healthcare.
- Account management experience and relevant sales experience for IT technology and/or healthcare a plus.
- Excellent cold calling, selling, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional presentation and demonstrations skills with a proficiency in using web enabled demonstration tools.
- Detail oriented, enthusiastic and a quick learner.
- Proficiency with leading CRM Packages like Salesforce.com or SalesLogix.
- Ability to mine contact databases and the Internet for lead generation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
